The Farm

Stannary Hills is an Australian family owned farming business located 103 km west of Cairns on the northern edge of the Atherton Tablelands in a small township called Mutchilba. Our nearest town centre is Mareeba, 34 km west of Cairns.

Our family is the 4th generation of tableland farmers sustainably managing our farm, with our three children often lending a hand. The farm has been owned by the Godfrey family since July 1964 and has been certified organic since 2000. When we eventually pass our farm on to the next generation, should our children choose to continue the business, our goal is for it to be in a healthier state than when we began.

We run the family business on our 59.1 ha (150 acre) property and have established the livestock paddocks, vegetable growing sites and citrus orchard along with a permanent water system. Also approximately 10 ha of the farm has been dedicated to tea tree oil production. We're always happy about to talk about what we produce and how we produce it. Reach out any time to get in touch with us.

The only way you can be assured you are buying genuine, organic products is if you buy products with the Australian Certified Organic logo (affectionately known as the ‘bud’) because it is Australia’s organic industry’s leading logo and guarantee of organic integrity. Every step of the process (from paddock to plate) is audited according to the Organic Standard.

Stannary Hills Organic Produce also holds “A” Grade Organic Status and Freshcare Quality Assurance Certifications.

We pride ourselves on producing the finest organic Tea Tree Oil, where each batch is rigorously monitored and refined continually during the harvesting and distillation process.

We have a large dam for recreational use - swimming, relaxing and fishing. We also have a boat that we use to go fishing swimming and snorkeling out of the daintree world heritage area. We commonly see a wide range of wildlife including crocodiles, sea turtles, dolphins, sharks, sea eagles and even had the chance to snorkel between a large school of manta rays. We use Biodynamic Preps with our organic systems. The work would include planting, weeding, propagating, harvesting, fruit picking, animal care and day to day farm chores. The accommodation is in our adjacent self contained cottage and buildings.
